The CDS-2500A Automatic Heavy Duty Degausser for High-Oersted Media is designed to erase all formats of media that are less than 6 inches in width in only one pass. The degaussing field strength switch provides the option to change between high and low field strengths. It is like having two degaussers in one. On low, the CDS-2500A is an automatic continuous duty degausser capable of degaussing over 90 VHS tapes per minute without overheating. On high, the machine is a powerful high energy degausser capable of erasing the newest metal tape formats of up to 2000 oersteds.

To start erasing, simply press the “on” button and place the media on the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt will transport the media through the strong horizontal and vertical degaussing fields produced by two degaussing coils placed at 90 degrees from each other (“V” coil design). For added convenience, the conveyor belt speed can be easily adjusted up to 60 feet per minute. At this rate, the CDS-2500A will erase more than 90 VHS tapes per minute. For more efficiency, add the optional FH-4 feed hopper. Additional options on this unit are the magnetic shielding coupled with input and output slides. These options are described below.

The machine can be rented for a period of one week at a cost of $495.00 or for one month at a cost of $900.00 per month, or it can be purchased as a remanufactured machine at a cost of $3,795.00.

Options

Magnetic Shield - $375.00

For customers requiring an enclosed degaussing station, a magnetic shield has been designed that completely encloses the conveyor belt and magnetic fields. The magnetic shield option reduces the magnetic field surrounding the degausser below the threshold limit values specified by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). To assist with the loading and unloading of media with the magnetic shield in place, you may add an input and output slide.

Feed Hopper - $399.00

The automatic cassette feed hopper attaches directly to the CDS-2500A degausser. This low cost option dramatically increases the speed and simplicity of erasing large quantities of media. While originally designed for VHS cassettes, the hopper can be adjusted to fit many other formats as well. Made of stainless steel, the hopper is rugged, designed for continuous use, and is easily installed using existing hardware. The feed hopper can be used with the magnetic shield in place.
